MORE THAN ONE IN FOUR WOMEN NOT INTERESTED IN SEX
A breakthrough study of pre-menopausal women who had lost interest in sex has confirmed that
treatment with a therapeutic hormonal cream produced in Western Australia
not only restores sexual interest, satisfaction and enjoyment but also
gives a boost to women's vitality and mood.
In addition independent new scientific research has highlighted that the cream may also have a
protective role in lowering the risk of breast cancer in women who
use it.
The study1
is a world first, focusing as it does on the restoration of sexual
enjoyment and overall well-being in younger women not yet affected by the
menopause (pre-menopausal).
The
Catical cream, Andro-Feme – which is made
in WA and is already available on
Delivering a measured dose of testosterone, the cream was found to
provide "clinically relevant and statistically significant improvements in
well-being, mood and sexual function" in pre-menopausal women having
problems with their libido.
Seven aspects of sexuality were measured – sexual interest, sexual
activity, satisfaction of sexual life, experience of sexual pleasure,
sexual fantasy, orgasm capacity and sexual relevancy.
Delighted with the results, Pharmacist Michael Buckley, Director of the
family owned firm, Lawley Pharmaceuticals, who produce the cream, is not
keen for Andro-Feme to be labelled as a female Viagra because, he says,
it is so much more than that.
Andro-Feme restores Libido, Orgasm, Vitality and Enjoyment
making it a genuine recipe for renewal of L – O – V
– E - LOVE, he says. Love
in relationships, and Love of life in general.
It improves every aspect of a woman's sexuality and well-being.
Low hormone levels in both men and women are increasingly being
identified as the culprit - linked to fatigue, loss of libido, depression
and loss of mental clarity. Whilst
traditional oestrogen based hormone replacement therapy has taken a beating
recently, the crucial role of testosterone supplementation has continued to
emerge as a safe, complementary option for women as well as a life
transforming boon for men.
Andro-Feme is a bio-identical hormonal cream designed for women,
which is already available in Western Australia and currently being used
successfully by doctors to treat loss of libido, depression and mood swings
in younger, menopausal and post-menopausal women.
Lawley also makes Andromen Forte testosterone cream for men, also
currently available in Western Australia, and which has been selected as
the preferred first treatment option for men with hormone problems by the
National Well Men Program.
Welcoming
publication of the Andro–Feme study Dr Zentner said that it
was carried out on pre-menopausal women in their thirties who should
be in their sexual prime. "It confirms what we already know, namely that testosterone
has been the neglected hormone in the maintenance of sexual and overall
health in both men and women for many years".
"It
is particularly relevant for women who
have been, or are currently, on the contraceptive pill and who have noticed
a loss of interest in sex", he said.
Dr Zentner cited three success story examples.
A young 22 year old who lost all interest in sex after commencing on
the pill. This was causing
relationship problems. On
Andro-Feme she is now enjoying and initiating sex with her partner.
A menopausal woman, one of many who have abandoned traditional oestrogen
based HRT for fear of breast cancer but who needed relief of menopausal
symptoms who says "it is just wonderful to feel human again".
...and a post menopausal woman of 61 who is not only enjoying sex once
again but is feeling totally rejuvenated.

There is an ever growing body of evidence to show that loss of interest in sex is now common in women long before menopause. According to data published at a recent Australian health conference3 at least 25% of Australian women have lost interest in sex.
This confirms US data4
that shows up to 43% of all women have sexual dysfunction and 22% of women
list low sexual desire as their number one symptom.
In Italy recent research5 shows that 6 out of 10 women are dissatisfied with their sex lives and prefer to give it a miss, notwithstanding the reputation of Italian men as great lovers.
